September 14, 2015 – Read the Book of Mormon EVERY DAY!!!

  • Companion: Elder Combrink
  • Area: Jennings Branch, Louisiana

This week has been a good week. Every time I sit down at the computer to email I feel like I was just doing it yesterday. One transfer is officially over and it has gone by way too fast! I love being out in Jennings LA. It feels like home, at least the small town farming part; the culture is extremely different though. We have been accomplishing a lot! We got 9 new investigators this week alone, and one baptismal date. I don’t know if he really understands it but hey he committed and that’s a start! We invited an investigator to church and they didn’t come. We went and visited him later in the week and we found out he tried to come to church but on their way their truck broke down! When we stopped by only his mom was home and we found out the phone # we had for them was wrong, but she didn’t know the new one. When we were doing our weekly planning we felt we needed to contact them, but we had no way of contacting them, so we wrote a letter. Sometimes we forget the power of a letter through the mail when we have technology.

We might be getting a new vehicle today! We currently drive a 2013 Jeep Compass and we hope we get a truck.

One big thing I’ve learned this week is that when you are doing things right Satin will do everything he can to stop you from doing that! Just like the investigator coming to church. So never give up even when times get tough! I invite everyone to Read the Book of Mormon EVERY DAY! It is the quickest way to strengthen ones testimony! I learned yesterday that I definitely need to learn the Bible more, after talking to a man for 2 1/2 hours straight! He also taught me the importance of having a living prophet on the earth. His beliefs were all over the place… including the craziness of the Apacrafa. So those in seminary this year take it seriously!!!!

Well we got to go and I know we have a living prophet on earth today!
