So this week was really slow. We have been teaching Raymond (who is from Scotland) but he is moving back! He was an atheist but he has recently come to believe in God. At first he said no, but now he doesn’t mind the idea of being Baptized. His wife has been having some miracles happen to her in Scotland. We hear about them because we used to teach her too, but she has a really good friend that’s a member. (The Baer family.) And one day we happened to stop at the Baer’s house just in time to be able to help Sister Bear help Leanne (Raymond’s Wife) find a church to go to in Scotland. And got the missionaries sent to her. But he is moving back this week because he couldn’t find a job to help him take care of his visa problems! So sad, because he is progressing and liking the gospel! Anyways that’s been most my week. 🙂

Got to Love the altitude! – March 21, 2016

Well this week has been a slow week, I don’t really know what to say about it. We were able to teach a few people. I went on exchanges this week with Elder Garry and we were able to teach a few people including a Scottish guy, Raymond. He is good friends with a member but his wife and his 2 kids are currently back in Scotland. I have got to meet them in the past before and they are really nice. They are coming from atheism and they currently believe that there is a God. Which is a really cool story!

I haven’t even used sunscreen once on my mission and I haven’t gotten sunburned once! Got to love the altitude! Please tell grandmas and grandpas that I love them so very very very very very very very much! Oh and tell them I love them. Oh wait did I tell you to tell them I love them? Just checking!

I’ll send some pictures, but that’s pretty much all for this week. I love you. Have a good week!

I know God loves each of us – March 14, 2016

Daylight savings time has kicked our butt! It’s was bad! This morning we snoozed the alarm and woke up at 8, because normally it would be 7, so our bodies woke up at “7” let’s just get rid of the spring forward all together!

It has been slow again, but good no the less. It just gets annoying biking everywhere and still having no one that wants to talk to you! We just haven’t had a lot of teaching opportunities, biking everywhere is fine when you can break it up by teaching people.  We did get to teach 2 lessons on Saturday. The one a guy tried to convert us and when we showed up he had a rosary and prayer cards and scripture cards and a “My Catholic Handbook” set out to give us. And he also had with him a book a book that had a subtitle of “How to respond to Mormon’s and Jehovah Witness’ ” it was great! I like teaching people who are willing to listen. He was willing to listen, but wasn’t willing to believe or act on anything we taught him. We actually knocked in to him during our Hour of Power we have every Thursday and taught him and then brought a member back with us and he had stuff for the member too. But teaching people so aren’t willing to change, as he said himself, is annoying. But still good chances to learn and grow from them. The times like that are actually quite enjoyable when you don’t get into a bible bash. Because you get to learn about others religions and what makes them tick. And it’s cool to learn and understand. The only annoying part is they don’t want to learn or I should say understand or act on what you have to say. If you get into a bash no one wins. You may think you do but reality no one does. The spirit is not present! And if you don’t know the Bible that well, people can really make you feel like crap. I was with someone once that as we were biking down the street he pointed to random houses and said, we had a bash there, and there, and there, and so on. Not the best thing to do. I personally will avoid a bash as much as possible. We get people who try to do it with us, and all we will do is testify of truth and tell them we hope they have a good day, because bashing will drive the spirit away.

My favorite part of missionary work is teaching and testifying! The only problem is we have to have someone to teach! And when you don’t, it sucks! Because you don’t know what to do other than bike all over the place! But this week that will be different! We have just started a few days ago a new method of finding people! And so far it’s working! What we do is we go to an active member’s home and we teach them! We teach them the missionary lessons just like they were an investigator. And when the spirits there we ask for referrals so that the spirit will bring the names of their friends that need the message! As President Nelson told us we need to EARN our referrals not beg for them! We need to go into member’s houses and lift them with the spirit and touch their lives and in return receive names of those they want to be touched in the same way. This helps us find people to teach and we actually get to teach lessons! And the spirit is so strong while we are there!!

I know God loves each of us. He gave his son to die for us! And through Christ’s sacrifice we can overcome all challenges that come our way!! The Book of Mormon is true. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet of Christ Church on earth. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Gods kingdom here on earth. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.

Week in a nutshell – March 7, 2016

This week is been fairly good. But the first week of most transfers are slow. Me and Elder Heath have gotten along very well. We talk a lot! Which is great! So in reality it’s not really bad until you look at the clock and it says 12:00 am. We have talked about an extreme variety of things and still only scratched the surface of what we want to talk about! Not a lot happened this week. We did get to help with family history again and I always enjoy that! The Swank’s fed us twice because we didn’t have meals this week! But we got a lot more this week. The meal calendar never made it through relief society last week. Church was really good. So many kids got up and shared their experiences about giving a Book of Mormon to a friend. They really put all of us to shame! They just do it so easily! Well that’s really my week in a nut shell. Not a lot happened, who the mentioning, just a lot of talking to people.
